TPMS Service

The tire pressure light means one of two things: a tire is genuinely low, or a sensor has failed. They need different fixes, and we check which one you have before quoting.

What the job involves

  1. 1Read the sensors with a TPMS tool to see which wheel is reporting, and what it is reporting.
  2. 2Check the actual pressures with a gauge. A light caused by a genuinely soft tire is a puncture question.
  3. 3Replace failed sensors, or fit new service kits (valve core, seal and cap) where the sensor itself is fine.
  4. 4Run the relearn procedure so the vehicle recognizes the sensors and the light stays off.

When you need it

If any of these sound like your car, bring it in and we will look at it.

  • The TPMS light is on and the tires are at the right pressure
  • The light flashes for a minute at startup and then stays on, which usually means a system fault rather than low pressure
  • You have had new tires fitted and the light came on afterwards
  • Sensors are typically good for 5 to 10 years before the internal battery gives out
