Suspension & Steering

Worn suspension shows up as tire wear long before it shows up as a bad ride. If your tires are wearing unevenly and an alignment does not hold, this is usually where the problem actually is.

What the job involves

  1. 1Inspect the shocks and struts for leaks, and check the bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends and sway bar links for play.
  2. 2Road test where the symptom is a noise or a handling complaint rather than something visible.
  3. 3Quote for the parts that are actually worn, in the order they matter.
  4. 4Align the vehicle afterwards. Any steering or suspension replacement changes the geometry.

When you need it

If any of these sound like your car, bring it in and we will look at it.

  • The car keeps bouncing after a bump, or dives hard under braking
  • Clunks or knocks over rough surfaces
  • Cupped or scalloped wear across a tire's tread
  • An alignment that will not stay set
  • Vague or wandering steering
